A surprising number of people that we support with 1:1 work autism coaching / mentoring were previously struggling alone at work due to their autism / and or ADHD.
This is because, many simply did not realise there was a government scheme that can provide funding to pay for autism mentor support - (which can be in the form of mentoring or coaching). This access to work grant is free for the employee - and you may be eligible for it even without a formal diagnosis.
There are a few requirements as below:
16 or over
Be currently in employment - or just about to start a job (which includes being self employed). This includes temporary and part time roles.
You have to live in England, Scotland or Wales to apply. Being a UK citizen is not necessary.
You can apply for the access to work scheme by clicking on this link
You have to apply yourself as your employer cannot apply for you. However, you can get help from someone with the process. Also, we would advise talking to your employer too - to see how access to work can help. If your employers needs more information on access to work, then this link will provide further information for them....
An access to work autism mentor grant normally funds up to 3 years of support. Please get in touch if you would like work coaching / mentoring support in your job due to struggling with being neurodiverse (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
